I had no idea I was about to stumble upon the hidden gem of Ishpeming. I am embarrassed to say I did not catch the name of the employee who assisted me with my order. My hunger got the best of me after viewing the menu. She was kind and extremely helpful. I was told my order was going to be 10 minutes. I went to my car and set a timer. This person brought my order out to my car 7 minutes later. I ordered a lamb gyro and a chicken bomber. My plan was to take a bite of each and drive home to put on a plate like a civilized human. Instead I ate in the parking lot like a trash goblin. I did save a few bites of each for my husband... sort of. Homemade chips and homemade ranch?? Don't judge. I will be back to try all the other items on the menu. Thank you.
This food is goooood! We've had the gyro, hani, duke's revenge, coney dog, and lou dog--all very tasty and filling. Staff are always friendly.
The Island in Ishpeming is INCREDIBLE! My Mom and I both ordered the Ruben, and I upgraded to Onion Rings. Our food was ready for pickup in only 15 minutes. I'll break down my review per category below. Price 5/5 Stars: The price for items on the menu are very good. The Ruben at $12 was huge; loaded with perhaps the best meat I've ever had in a ruben and carefully crafted with just the right amounts of everything. The marble rye bread was delicious, the sauerkraut and thousand island dressing were perfect. The onion rings are definitely worth the upgrade, too! They are large, no-nonsense onion rings that paired perfectly with my Ruben. I tried a couple of the chips and those are really good. Food 5/5 Stars: The food at The Island is delicious! I have only tried the Ruben so far, and there are many options to choose from (and I will be trying them!). You can tell that they care; these sandwiches were put together very well. Inside/Outside 5/5 Stars: The parking is good for The Island, and I was able to park immediately and enter. Very clean inside and out, which is great to see at a restaurant. Staff 5/5 Stars: The staff at The Island are extremely friendly and personable. I felt welcomed when I went in to pick up my food. Overall 5/5 Stars: The Island is a much needed and welcome addition to Ishpeming! I am so happy you are here and I can tell you are going to be a major HIT for us all! Bravo, The Island!
Happy to see they upgraded to a brick and mortar location from the successful Food Truck. Absolutely try it out for yourself. The feta chicken sandwich is seriously delicious!
The food here is great. Just simple and delicious. Keep up the good work! Tough to find something better in Ishpeming. The country breakfast burrito is making my day right now and it’s MASSIVE.
We live nearby and it has quickly become our go to takeout option for times we dont feel like cooking. Haven't tried anything bad honestly. The Cuban sandwich is amazing. I also recommend the Shawarma, Benji's Best, Hani, Philly, breakfast burritos or poutine. I added a pic of the last Cuban sandwich I ordered. Prices and staff are also great ❤️.
BEST CUDIGHI IN THE UP! And the giant cookies with m and M's are totally addictive. Fantastic and friendly service! Incredible food...huge menu. We've had coneys, schwarmas, and salads... it's all so good. Huge portions and GREAT prices! A very short drive from MQT!
All the food was spot on. They didn’t have enough seating for our big family but neither does our minivan. That was okay because we needed a stretch and the boys spent most of the time playing the free awesome old school arcade game. The service was very attentive. I ate what was probably the best Reuben I’ve ever had. The Greek salad was just what my wife was craving and various hot dogs, chili cheese, and Chicago style were big hits with the kids. All in all a perfect pit stop and the music coming out of the kitchen was Winnie approved.
This was our first time here and they were awesome! I got the Super Cyclone sandwich and it was SO GOOD.
I order from here with my boyfriend all the time and I have to say I usually get the Reuben sandwich, but ever since the pad Thai has been here I’ve gotten it every time! It’s so good and flavorful and when I ask for it spicy it’s always such a nice kick. Best takeout in ish.
